UFC Charlotte: Pros react to Jailton Almeida quickly submitting Jairzinho Rozenstruik
See how fellow UFC fighters (including Jailton Almeida himself!) took to Almeida following his first-round submission victory over Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the UFC Charlotte headliner
Jailton Almeida had what appeared to be a tough test in Jairzinho Rozenstruik heading into the main event of UFC Charlotte. But Almeida passed the test with flying colors, running through "Bigi Boy" and scoring a first-round submission.
Almeida had gone in for a takedown attempt right away as the fight began, but Rozenstruik stopped it and kept him at bay with a one-two. Thirty seconds into the first round, however, Almeida landed the takedown.
The action slowed from there as Rozenstruik's defense led to Almeida not landing much. But with about 90 seconds left in the first round, Almeida was able to get mount and quickly get to Rozenstruik's back, sinking in a choke and scoring a submission.
