Alex Pereira, Israel Adesanya have airport run-in (Video)

Former longtime rivals Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya ran into each other in the airport.

Two longtime rivals in both kickboxing and MMA accidentally ran into each other at the airport this week but the face-off didn't quite go as expected.

On Monday morning former middleweight champion Alex Pereira posted a video with the caption, "Guess who I met at the airport?" He panned over to Israel Adesanya playing shy. Alexander Volkanovski was there too.

Pereira's video was in Portuguese but it sounds as though he and Adesanya are heading either to or from Los Angeles.

Adesanya shared a video of his own with the caption, "My life is a video game."

The two were friendly, which probably isn't what fans expected to happen.

The pair have fought a total of four times. Adesanya was beaten in the first three fights in a row, two kickboxing and one MMA where he lost his title to Pereira. But their last outing saw Adesanya regain his title after finally beating Pereira. The pair will probably not fight again as Pereira is gearing up to move up to light heavyweight
