April 2018 – Conor McGregor throws dolly through bus window at UFC 223

UFC 223 had a fair share of trouble from the start, first with Tony Ferguson becoming injured, then his replacement Max Holloway unable to cut the weight and needing to be replaced himself. The final straw was when Conor McGregor and a group of friends showed up to media day and began to throw objects at the bus carrying Khabib Nurmagomedov and other fighters. Several fighters were injured and had to be pulled from their fights.

McGregor fled the scene and later turned himself in to a Brooklyn police station where he was charged with one felony count of criminal mischief and three misdemeanor counts of assault. He was released on bail and was allowed to return to his home country of Ireland. Ultimately McGregor was offered a plea deal and was sentenced to a disorderly conduct charge. He served five days of community service. he also had to pay back the restitution for the damages to the bus and participate in anger management classes. McGregor served no jail time.
