In June 2023, McGregor was accused of a brutal rape in the bathroom during the NBA Playoffs in Miami. The woman accusing McGregor says that she was led into a bathroom by NBA and McGregor security where McGregor was waiting in a stall. From there she says McGregor forced her to perform sexual acts.
Fans have questioned the motives of the accuser as several videos seem to discredit her story and they are bothered by her asking for a settlement from both McGregor and the NBA, rather than press criminal charges.
Her lawyer says she reported to the police but they turned her away. “First, she went to the police precinct where she lives and there they told her to go to another precinct where this happened,” Attorney Ariel Mitchell said. “So, that’s one rejection of a sexual assault victim. Then, at the rightful precinct, she walked in shortly after 4:30 p.m. and, half an hour later, she was walked out of the police station.”
