The newest season of The Ultimate Fighter has finally begun filming and for the first time in a while, it promises to be a huge season. The return of Connor McGregor, who will coach opposite fan-favorite Michael Chandler, almost guarantees that this new season will bring us back to the old days of the show when coaches would dispute any minor inconvenience and be on the verge of throwing punches.
Despite being recognized as the 'savior' of the UFC back when the show debuted in 2005, which culminated in one of the greatest fights in UFC history between Stephan Bonnar and Forrest Griffin in the finale, TUF has been suffering in terms of popularity and relevance for the everyday MMA fan. The choice of McGregor and Chandler as coaches promises that every fan will be glued to their screen come premiere day on May 30.
Whilst the last couple of seasons, particularly TUF 29 and TUF 30, lacked the heated rivalry between coaches, TUF 31 has already been providing fireworks. According to FanSided MMA's Amy Kaplan, the two already had a physical altercation that saw McGregor shove Chandler before security had to separate the two teams. While a date for their clash is yet to be announced, all the information that is coming out is ensuring that this will be one of the most exciting seasons of the show in recent history.
