A new teaser for The Ultimate Fighter has been released ahead of the May 30 debut.
The Ultimate Fighter season 31 is set to premiere in just days but before the first episode, ESPN released a sneak peek of the moment that the two coaches meet for the first time.
The approximately one-minute video shows the meeting occurring at the UFC APEX gym, where much of the show was filmed. Michael Chandler arrived first and waits for Conor McGregor who flew in from overseas for the taping.
It opens with McGregor shadowboxing in the hall where the past seasons jerseys are hung.
"The biggest icon in mixed martial arts history walks into the gym, dressed to the nines, typical Conor McGregor walk," Chandler says. "Most guys start to crumble, right?
The two shake hands.
"I give you propes and respect," Chandler says to McGregor. "[I'm] the hardest fight you can come back and take."
"Be careful what you wish for, right?" McGregor says during his interview later. "Michael is not on my level."
The tension starts to rise as McGregor's energy takes over
"Second round KO," Chandler says after McGregor asks his prediction for the fight.
"You dream bud, you dream," McGregor responds.
He starts to make demands. McGregor tells Chandler the fight will be at 185 pounds.
"You want to do 185, I'll do 185," Chandler says.
"You'll do what you're told," McGregor quips back. "I'm gonna pin ya. This is my game. This is my game forever.
As of press time, the fight between McGregor and Chandler is not yet officially set.
