Conor McGregor gives a promising update about the timeline for his fight with Michael Chandler.

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler coached The Ultimate Fighter season 31 and even though the show hasn't aired yet, its already garnered tons of attention.

One of the biggest selling points of the show is the eventual fight between McGregor and Chandler, which, at press time, has yet to be given an official date.

But that may be changing soon as McGregor told Inside Fighting that the bout would occur "sometime end of summer." McGregor was in Vegas playing the roulette table following the Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia fight.

Even though McGregor is giving the fight a timeline, there are some elements that maybe out of control and that includes USADA.

The UFC's anti-doping agency requires that a fighter re-enter the testing pool for at least six months before fighting again, and as far as we know, he's still not in the testing pool again.

McGregor seems to believe that he won't have to do the six-month rule.

“I’m not rushing nothing,” McGregor told Ariel Helwani in mid-March. “There’s hurdles and what not, but we’re in constant communication and there’s an interview scheduled and a meeting happens and then it will be official. But the six months thing, what they had said was two clean tests and off I go, so I assume it won’t be too long.”

But USADA reiterated that he does and refuted his claims that they had a meeting set up.

"While we meet with all athletes who enter or re-enter the testing pool, we do not currently have a meeting set with Conor and, as of today, we have not received notice of his coming out of retirement to compete," the statement reads.

We guess only time will tell when it comes to McGregor
