Watch Anthony Smith weigh-in for UFC Fight Pass Invitational 4, opponent Glover Teixeira missing
It's a rematch three years in the making - except this time around, it's grappling only. Former UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira takes on Anthony Smith on Thursday, June 29, at the UFC Fight Pass Invitational 4 grappling tournament.
Texeira and Smith originally threw down in the Octagon at UFC Jacksonville in May 2020. Teixeira took home the win via TKO in the fifth round. At the time, it was Teixeira's fourth win in a row. He would win the title two fights later against Jan Blachowicz.
It will be Teixeira's first appearance in combat sports since retiring from MMA following his loss against Jamahal Hill at UFC 283. Smith returns after a decision loss to Johnny Walker this year.
All the athletes weighed in on Wednesday with the exception of Teixeira who had "travel issues" and was not available for the face-off with Smith. The bout will go on as scheduled.
The UFC Fight Pass Invitational 4 event will be streamed exclusively on UFC Fight Pass on Thursday, June 29, at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT.
