Following a rare weekend off, the UFC is back in action on Saturday, June 3, with a main event that has become an even rarer occasion. For the first time since 2017, a men's flyweight bout will take center stage in what promises to be a barnburner of a fight.
The No. 3 ranked flyweight Kai Kara-France (24-10) takes on the No. 7 ranked Amiz Albazi (16-1) with a potential title shot up for grabs for whoever leaves the UFC APEX victorious. This will be Kara-France's first appearance of the year after coming up short for the interim flyweight strap against Brandon Moreno in July 2022.
On the other hand, his opponent has been nothing short of spectacular since joining the UFC. Albazi is a perfect 3-0 in the promotion, although this without a doubt will be the toughest test of his career when he faces the extremely dangerous hands of Kara-France.
The flyweight main event is far from the only high-profile bout. The co-main event sees the No. 15 ranked featherweight Alex Caceres (20-13) take on Daniel Pineda (28-14) for a spot in the 145-pound rankings. A pair of UFC veterans Jim Miller (35-17) and Jared Gordon (19-6) will also clash during the main card in what is set to be a great warmup card before the UFC's monthly pay-per-view takes place on June 10.
