UFC Vegas 74: Jim Miller defeated Jesse Butler.

Jim Miller defeated Jesse Butler via TKO (strikes), Round 1 – 0:23 at UFC Vegas 74 on Saturday, June 3, 2023, live from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, NV.

If you weren't paying attention, you might have missed the fight. Butler was aggressive with a kick and continued to attack with his striking. Miller connected with a counter left. He immediately followed it up with a perfect left hook that dropped Butler. Miller landed a left uppercut for good measures and the referee moved in and stopped the fight.

"I appreciate the heck out of Jesse to take the fight on two days notice. That takes some stones... When I'm on, I'm dangerous for anyone in the world," said Miller.

Miller made his UFC debut nearly 15 years ago at UFC 88. Saturday marked the 42nd time that Miller had fought inside of the Octagon. Miller, who will turn 40 in August, has long stated that his goal is to appear on UFC 300 after appearing on both UFC 100 and UFC 200.

Butler made his UFC debut on Saturday. Miller was originally scheduled to fight Ľudovít Klein, who was forced to pull out on May 19 with an illness. Klein was replaced by Jarred Gordon who was also forced to pull out of the fight after he failed to get medically clear the week of the fight. Butler entered the fight on a five fight winning streak.
