UFC Vegas 73 weigh-in results: 1 fighter punches wall after missing weight
Weigh-in results for UFC Vegas 73: Mackenzie Dern vs. Angela Hill.
The UFC's newest makeshift fight night comes to our screens on Saturday, May 20. Live from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, UFC Vegas 73 will go through despite the main event changes that occurred this month.
Originally, Raquel Pennington and Irene Aldana were set to square off once again before Juliana Peña was forced to withdraw from her title fight against Amanda Nunes at UFC 289. The UFC pushed Aldana into the title picture, with Pennington serving as the backup for the title fight, leaving UFC Vegas 73 without a headliner.
Thankfully, Mackenzie Dern (12-3) and Angela Hill (15-12) were willing to push their fight from UFC Charlotte into a main event spotlight. The two ranked strawweights will be looking to climb up the stacked division with a win as Hill looks to go on a three-fight winning streak while Dern hopes to get herself back in the winning column.
There may not be the ranked vs. ranked matchups UFC fans have become accustomed to but don't let that deter you from tuning in. A pair of middleweight scrappers face off in the co-main event as Edmen Shabazyan (12-3) meets Anthony Hernandez (10-2) for a chance to break into the top 15 rankings.
Before the bouts are made official, they must first weigh-in and be approved by the state commission. You'll find the official weigh-in results below.
One fighter tipped the scales at 1.5 pounds over for his bout and let out his frustrations when he left the stage.

Vanessa Demopoulos also missed weight for her scap with Karolina Kowalkiewicz when she stepped on 1.5 pounds over.
