The UFC ends the month of July with another thrilling pay-per-view. Live from the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah, UFC 291 looks set to be one of the cards of the year despite not having an undisputed title fight headlining.
That's right. On Saturday, July 29, not one of the 11 UFC titles will be on the line but rather the only-seen-once-before BMF championship makes its triumphant return. Fighting for the distinction of being the BMF is two men who have proven time and time again that if anyone deserves to fight for such a title, it could only be these two.
Dustin Poirier (29-7) will meet Justin Gaethje (24-4) once again in the main event. Their first fight, which took place in 2018, ended with Poirier knocking Gaethje out in what is considered one of the greatest lightweight fights in MMA history.
With the added BMF title on the line, and a potential last chance at the undisputed lightweight title for the winner, Poirier vs. Gaethje 2 has all the ingredients for a glorious main event.
