Everything you need to know about UFC 289's fight card including results and highlights.

For the first time since recapturing the UFC women's bantamweight championship 11 months ago, Amanda Nunes returns to the Octagon in the main event of UFC 289, defending the title against Irene Aldana.

This fight was originally supposed to be the trilogy title bout between Nunes and Julianna Pena, but Pena was forced out of the bout due to injury a month ago.

Nunes, who has won 13 of her last 14 fights, defended the women's bantamweight title five times in her original reign with the title, which began with a submission of Miesha Tate at UFC 200. From there, she retained against Ronda Rousey, Valentina Shevchenko, Raquel Pennington, Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie.

At UFC 269, Pena stunned the world by finishing Nunes, handing "The Lioness" her first loss since September 2014. Nunes, however, regained the title in their rematch at UFC 277 last year.

Aldana has won four of her last five, including three finishes. She enters this title bout off back-to-back finishes of Yana Kunitskaya (first-round TKO at UFC 264) and Macy Chiasson (third-round KO).

The co-main event — and perhaps the fight that most people are excited for — will see Charles Oliveira look to rebound from losing the UFC lightweight title as he takes on Beneil Dariush, who is perhaps on the doorstep from a title shot of his own.

This fight was originally to go down at UFC 288 last month but was delayed due to a minor injury.

Oliveira's 2022 was one to forget after he became the first fighter in UFC history to lose his championship on the scales, missing weight for his UFC 274 title defense against Justin Gaethje. He then looked to regain the title at UFC 280 but was submitted by current champ Islam Makhachev — Oliveira's first loss since December 2017.

Dariush, meanwhile, enters on an eight-fight win streak, most recently competing at the previously mentioned UFC 280 card, where he defeated Mateusz Gamrot.

This story will be updated live throughout the night.
