The Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, was rocking throughout the night as the UFC took over with UFC 288 on May 6.
The event marked the ninth UFC event ever at Prudential Center and the arena's first UFC event at the arena since a Fight Night card in August 2019. It was also the first UFC pay-per-view at Prudential Center since UFC 169 — headlined by Renan Barao and Urijah Faber — in February 2014.
A sold-out crowd of 17,559 packed the venue for a generated gate of $5,182,210.36. This makes UFC 288 the highest-grossing sports event in the history of the Prudential Center.
Movsar Evloev vs. Diego Lopes was named the UFC 288 Fight of the Night, while Yan Xiaonan and Matt Frevola were given performance bonuses.
All four fighters walked away with an additional $50,000.

Lopes had quite the challenge on his hand, coming in on mere days' notice to make his UFC debut against the undefeated former M-1 Global bantamweight champion. Lopes, however, put on quite the showing with several close submission attempts during the fight. Evloev managed to grind out a decision win though.
Xiaonan pulled off a shocking performance by scoring a first-round knockout of former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade, potentially putting herself next in line for current champ Weili Zhang.
Frevola had his own highlight in the featured prelim bout of the evening, scoring a first-round TKO of Drew Dober.
