UFC 287: Kevin Holland stops Santiago Ponzinibbio, calls out Jorge Masvidal [VIDEO]
Kevin Holland hopes that a reboot of positive momentum has now started with a win over Santiago Ponzinibbio at UFC 287.
In a fight where both men came in needing a win, Kevin Holland scored a late finish of Santiago Ponzinibbio at UFC 287.
Ponzinibbio focused on leg kicks early on in this fight, with Holland looking to use his range to his advantage and land from distance. The two had some good mixing up and their fair share of moments in the first, but the biggest part of the round came in the closing seconds.

UFC 287: Kevin Holland flattens Santiago Ponzinibbio
Ponzinibbio caught a kick of Holland's, but Holland answered with a backfist that knocked Ponzinibbio down. Holland landed some ground-and-pound before the end of the first.
Holland came out on the front foot in the second round, with Ponzinibbio staying back and looking to land some counters. Holland, who was clearly landing the more effective strikes in this fight, focused on his jab, throwing and landing it plenty in the second round before rocking Ponzinibbio with a right in the final minute. Ponzinibbio looked to get inside and take down Holland in the final minute, but Holland easily got him off.
A few leg kicks from Ponzinibbio early in the third round appeared to damage one of Holland's legs, and Ponzinibbio started to press forward from there.
Holland caught a low kick from Ponzinibbio and landed a right hand that stunned him. Holland then cracked Ponzinibbio with a left hand that sent Ponzinibbio faceplanting. The ref, to the chagrin of Ponzinibbio, stopped the fight after a couple of follow-up shots, giving Holland the finish.

After the fight, Holland called out Jorge Masvidal who he has been in several altercations with in the lead up to UFC 287.
