TUF 31: Who is Roosevelt Roberts?
Meet Roosevelt Roberts ahead of his appearance on The Ultimate Fighter.
The Ultimate Fighter is back for season 31 and will feature, among others, former UFC and Dana White's Contender Series fighters looking for a second chance with the promotion. The coaches for the season will be superstar Conor McGregor and former title challenger Michael Chandler, who will meet later this year in the Octagon. This season will consist of bantamweights and lightweights, one of those being the 12-3 Roosevelt Roberts, who fought for the UFC from 2018 to 2021.
Roberts started out his career 4-0 with all finishes before joining Bellator for one fight and then would appear on DWCS where he would win by second-round submission and receive a contract, at that time being 7-0 with all finishes awaiting to make his UFC debut.

Roberts went 4-3 in his time with the organization, starting off 2-0 with wins against Darrell Horcher, a finish that would win him a performance bonus, and Thomas Gifford. Roberts would then go 2-3, with wins against vet Alexander Yakovlev and fellow DWCS alum Brok Weaver, but would lose three straight against Jim Miller, Kevin Croom and Ignacio Bahamondes, where Roberts was knocked out by a spinning heel kick with five seconds left in the fight.
Roberts would go 2-0 after being released by the UFC, winning Lights Out Xtreme Fighting's vacant lightweight title and beating former PFL vet Alexandre Almeida in Khabib Nurmagomedov's promotion Eagle FC. Roberts had his next fight lined up before his manager reached out for the opportunity to appear on TUF and is eager to learn from either McGregor or Chandler while getting some more exposure.
