Everything you need to know about The Ultimate Fighter's Carlos Vera.

We are only a few months away from the premiere of the brand new The Ultimate Fighter season and the anticipation for season 31 is through the roof. Despite not being as popular as the early editions of the MMA reality show, TUF looks to make a massive return with Connor McGregor coaching beside another one of the UFC's stars Michael Chandler. The season premieres on May 30 and culminates in a can't-miss pay-per-view event where the two coaches will square off.

Whilst all the attention will be on the coaches, the whole point of the show is to find the next Ultimate Fighter. Eight bantamweights and eight lightweights will go head to head and look to add their names on the list of UFC legends to have walked away with the TUF distinction.

The likes of Forest Griffin, Michael Bisping, and Kamaru Usman were all unknown to the public prior to making a name for themselves in the UFC's marquee reality TV show. One of the 135-pounders looking to make such an impact is Carlos Vera, who is riding a wave of momentum heading into the new season.

Who is The Ultimate Fighter 31's Carlos Vera?

Much like his compatriot Marlon 'Chito' Vera has done in the UFC, Carlos Vera (12-3) will be hoping to make a splash impact in The Ultimate Fighter house as he looks to become the 135-pounder that earns a UFC contract.

Fighting out of Fifty/50 Martial Arts Academy in Virginia, the Ecuador-born fighter comes in with a respectable professional record and will be one of the more experienced competitors in the show.

At 35 years old, it seems Vera is enjoying the most success in his career towards the end of it, earning his spot in the TUF house after winning four in a row whilst under the Fury FC banner.

His grappling abilities led him to win five of his 12 victories by submission, however, he is better known for his well-rounded MMA skills that make him a tough matchup for any of the other bantamweights, often winning by decision with his superior fight IQ. The 135-pound division should be on notice if another Ecuadorian Vera is able to break through into the division, especially if they'll come in as the Ultimate Fighter.
