Johnny Walker thinks Anthony Smith doesn’t like him 'I did nothing to him...yet' (Video)
The animosity between Johnny Walker and Anthony Smith is growing ... but is it one-sided?
The UFC has pulled all the stops to make sure that their return to Charlotte, North Carolina leaves a great impression on the 'Tar Heel State'. The card is stacked from top to bottom with ranked vs. ranked matchups that will have huge implications upon their respective weight class.
One such fight is between two known commodities in the UFC's light heavyweight division. Anthony Smith (36-17) will be looking to get back in the winning column against the always exciting Johnny Walker (20-7) during the co-main event. With so much at stake, it seems the animosity between the two has only grown.
Well, at least for Smith it has.
"I don't if he likes me, if he hates me," Walker told FanSided MMA's Amy Kaplan. "I have nothing against him."
Smith has barely mentioned his opponent throughout the media circus, seemingly focusing on just himself. Walker was quick to point out that Smith has talked poorly about the Brazilian during his podcast but Walker was still dumbfounded by the sudden cold shoulder he's been receiving.
"I have no idea why (he doesn't like me)," Walker said. "I did nothing to him...yet."
Johnny Walker feels ready for his title shot
It is no surprise that a clash between the No. 5 ranked light heavyweight contender and the No. 7 ranked guy would have potential title implications down the line. With the mess that the 205 pound division is at the moment, a win for either men could see them fight for the elusive title sooner rather than later.
When asked if how he felt that a championship fight could be a reality if he were to defeat Smith, the UFC veteran said, "100%. I'm ready."
