YouTube star turned professional boxer Jake Paul will now star in his first featured film which is a combat sports drama.

The Jake Paul train continues to run at a high speed, and the latest stop will be in Hollywood. News broke on Twitter from Variety that Paul will be making his feature film debut, “starring as a small-town youth rising to international fame through combat sports.” Paul is teaming up with “Mandalay’s Zelon and Wonder Street’s Craig Baumgarten” and will also serve as an executive producer of the project with Bidarian. The film will be distributed by Mandalay Pictures, who recently put out “Air” and “Big George Foreman.” There are no other details surrounding the project or when it will be released. Whichever date they choose to roll out the film, it will be heavily discussed before and after its release date.

First things first, Paul has a date with MMA legend Nate Diaz on August 5, which takes place at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, TX. This fight has been brewing for some time, and we will finally see the two battle inside the square circle. In other Paul-related news, fresh off the release of his Showtime documentary “S.O.G. The Book of Ward,” boxing Hall of Famer Andre Ward did an interview with iFL TV where he said, “Hell yea (to a fight with Paul). I would be open to both (professional or an exhibition). Prince (Ward’s Manager) reached out to his son and said, ‘Let Jake know, I want to see if there’s something there,’ and we never heard back.”

Jake Paul will now try his hand in Hollywood

Paul continues to create opportunities for himself in different areas, and this new film could be his way into Hollywood as a full-time actor. In the meantime, he continues to spark interest from other fighters that still hold name recognition for a fight in the ring and potentially a monster event. The question will be: who wants to see Paul in a film, or better yet, who likes the idea of Paul facing Ward in the future? This is turning out to be an interesting but exciting year for Paul and the sport of boxing.
