Jake Paul (kind of) defends Conor McGregor over racist tweet
By Amy Kaplan
Just yesterday Jake Paul and Conor McGregor were trading insults and today, Paul is defending McGregor for one of those insults.
Oh how the tides turn.
On Sunday McGregor tweeted and deleted several posts referring to Paul as a "wigger" and the fans were not happy about it. On Monday Paul took to Twitter to defend McGregor ... sort of.
"I see people bent out of shape bc McGregor called me a “wigger”. It’s the fight game. I don’t give a f**k about what a coked out, juiced up, shitty cheap whisky drinking fool says & then deletes," he tweeted. "He’s a selfish, self-centered, salty drug addict who hasn’t done anything for other fighters."
The pair went back and forth online over Paul's boxing fight with Nate Diaz, which McGregor says he wasn't impressed with.
The tweets turned ugly when McGregor used the racial slur and when Paul mentioned McGregor's recent rape allegation. Most of McGregor's tweets were deleted (which is typical for the former UFC champion) but not before Paul saw them and screenshots were made.
"Good boy deleting your tweets Conny. Hit me once you get out of rehab or jail," Paul tweeted on Sunday evening.
McGregor is supposed to be fighting Michael Chandler sometime this year or next but, so far, nothing has been announced.
