A recap of the night’s events at UFC 287, summed up in just tweets, GIFs and memes.
In the main event, Israel Adesanya re-captured the UFC middleweight championship with a second-round knockout of Alex Pereira, making him a two-time champion in the process.
This was a rematch of their UFC 281 bout at New York's Madison Square Garden in November, which saw Pereira score a fifth-round, comeback knockout of Adesanya to win the gold. It was the first time Adesanya had been finished in MMA.
Pereira had also come in with a pair of wins over Adesanya in kickboxing, but Adesanya can now say he is the 185-pound king once again in the sweetest way possible.
The co-main event saw a welterweight contenders' battle in which Gilbert Burns scored a unanimous decision over hometown hero Jorge Masvidal.
This marked Masvidal's fourth straight loss, and following it, "Gamebred" put his gloves down and announced his retirement after over 20 years and 50 fights in the sport.
