Wrestling has long been one of the best bases for MMA. From the early days of Mark Coleman and Mark Kerr using their wrestling to revolutionize ground and pound all the way to modern times where we see more and more high-level NCAA athletes transitioning to MMA.

Being able to dictate where a fight takes place is so important in today’s MMA as most fighters are extremely well rounded. While smooth double legs and big slams are fun to see, there are many more aspects to wrestling in MMA. Being able to wrestle in transition, while in the clinch, and when a takedown is secured on the mat are things we need to look at when discussing who the best wrestlers in the UFC are.

Below we will take a look at five of the best wrestlers currently in the UFC and one fighter who's wrestling needs some work.
