UFC Vegas 77 results for Holly Holm vs. Mayra Bueno Silva

Following International Fight Week, the UFC returns to the UFC APEX on Saturday, July 15 for UFC Vegas 77. The main event is a women's bantamweight fight between Holly Holm and Mayra Bueno Silva.

Former women's bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes retired after her victory at UFC 289. With the championship vacant, the UFC has yet to decide which two women will fight for the title next. The winner of the UFC Vegas 77 main event will likely earn a title fight.

Despite turning 42 years old in October, Holm has shown little signs of slowing down. Holm has won three of her last four fights and ranks third in the UFC's women's bantamweight division. Holm has stated that she wants to become a champion again before she decides to retire. At UFC 193, Holm knocked out Ronda Rousey to capture the bantamweight title. In her first title defense, Holm was submitted by Miesha Tate at UFC 196.

Bueno Silva entered the fight as the 10th-ranked women's bantamweight. Since moving up to bantamweight from flyweight, Bueno Silva has won three straight fights. The fight against Holm is easily the biggest fight of Bueno Silva's career.
