Ricky Glenn is back in the Octagon after being out of action for more than a year.
UFC Vegas 71 continues the spring action under the UFC banner with another card from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, NV. This card is headlined by an important heavyweight battle, as Sergei Pavlovich and Curtis Blaydes jockey for a shot at new UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones.
On the undercard, there are plenty of important fights for those involved. Ricky Glenn is in such a position as he looks to kickstart his UFC tenure after being out of action for a year. Glenn is the fighter to watch at UFC Vegas 71.
At 34 years of age, Glenn is a name that comes with a lot of mixed martial arts experience, but UFC fans may not recognize his run with the promotion. Since debuting with the company in 2016, he’s put together a 4-3-1 record. His biggest victory during that run came against Dennis Bermudez in 2018. Fans last saw Glenn back in October 2021, when he and Grant Dawson battled to a majority draw.
Christos Giagos will welcome Ricky Glenn after his time away
Glenn has struggled to maintain momentum since joining the UFC. He’s put together multiple wins just one time, and before that draw with Dawson, he was alternating wins and losses. He’s scheduled to be the featured prelim, which is an opportunity to perform with a lot of eyes on his fight. If he’s going to get back on the winning side of things, he will have to go through Christos Giagos.
Giagos is also looking to get back to winning ways at UFC Vegas 71. He’s riding a two-fight losing streak. His last appearance was against Thiago Moises in June 2022. Since joining the UFC in 2018, he has built a 4-4 record with the promotion and will bring a 19-10 record overall into the fight.
