The UFC APEX Octagon will be tested on Saturday when two heavyweight titans Sergei Pavlovich and Curtis Blaydes battle it out in what could seal the deal on who is next in line for heavyweight gold.
Often overlooked as a title challenger, Blaydes has a chance to finally become a potential number one contender for a championship that has eluded him for quite some time. Now with his kryptonite fighter Francis Ngannou out of the picture, only Pavlovich stands in his way.
Pavlovich rose up the heavyweight ranks with pure destruction in his knock out power. What an exciting match up Pavlovich has, standing across the Octagon on Saturday from the well-rounded Blaydes. If he continues his knockout win streak, Jon Jones or Stipe Miocic might have a problem on their hands.
It is unfortunate that UFC Vegas 71 lost an exciting co-main fight between Ricky Simon and Yadong Song, as this bantamweight matchup will be moved to the UFC Fight Night 223 main event.
UFC Vegas 71 on paper is somewhat of a sleeper fight card but there are so many exciting matchups that could steal the show this Saturday.
