Ariane Lipski is potentially fighting for her job when she steps into the Octagon at UFC Las Vegas.

UFC Las Vegas is set for Saturday, March 11, and features a major bantamweight bout at the top of the card as Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili look to move up the 135-pound rankings. While this fight has title implications, the rest of the card has important bouts for other fighters involved. One such individual is Ariane Lipski as she looks to prove she belongs on the UFC roster and is the fighter to watch.

Lipski comes into a bout against JJ Aldrich with a lot on the line. In 2019 she came into the UFC riding a nine-fight win streak, but that good fortune has widely escaped her on the biggest stage in the sport. Since joining the promotion, she has put together a 5-3 record. This includes losing three of her last four. During that losing cycle, she’s loss two fights in a row twice, and losing to Aldrich would give her a third sequence of back-to-back losses.

There’ve been moments where Lipski has shown the flashes that made her a hot prospect when she joined the company, but she continues to struggle when facing the well-known names in the division. She was last in the cage back in August 2022, where she was defeated by Priscila Cachoeira via TKO in the first round of their fight.

Lipski is in a dangerous position because taking on another loss can result in her being released from the promotion.

Aldrich is also looking to rebound from a loss. She was submitted by the quickly rising Erin Blanchfield back in June of 2022. That loss ended her three-fight win streak. Coming into the fight at UFC Las Vegas, Aldrich boasts an 11-5 overall record.
