Rob Font defeated Adrian Yanez via TKO (strikes), Round 1 – 2:57 at UFC 287 on Saturday, April 8, 2023, live from the Kaseya Center in Miami, FL.
"It was the right hand, I felt it. Start fading with the jab... I land my right hand, they are going to sleep. It's been a while since I got a finish. I needed this for me, for my team and for my family," said Font.

Font opened immediately with a right hand. Yanez came forward with a right hand. Font landed a job and hook with Yanez answering with a right hand. The two continued to trade in the middle with lightning fast punches. Font landed a pair of jabs and knee. Yanez landing another right hand and a low kick. Font's face was starting to show the damage.
Font landed a big uppercut and a combination that hurt Yanez who immediately retreated. Yanez tried fighting his way back into the fight but Font had other ideas. Font landed a three punch combo and then landed a massive hook that violently dropped Yanez. Immediately, Font jump onto Yanez and unloaded upwards of six or seven strikes before referee Keith Peterson stopped the fight.

Font entered UFC 287 as the sixth ranked bantamweight in the UFC. After winning four straight fights, Font entered Saturday's fight on a two fight losing streak. With his impressive knockout victory, Font improved to 20-6, with nine knockouts and 13 finishes.
Yanez arrived in Miami on a nine fight winning streak. The 12th ranked bantamweight. Since making his UFC debut, Yanez has record knockouts in four of his five fights. In the lone UFC fight that Yanez did not score a knockout, he earned fight of the night honors.
