You have to have been living under a rock if you haven't heard of Barry Bonds. He spent 22 seasons in Major League Baseball first with the Pittsburgh Pirates and then with the San Francisco Giants.

But the highly decorated former MLB star has recieved a new athletic honor, this time in martial arts.

On June 29 he was awarded his blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which is the first belt given after a white belt.

"This past week we had a blue belt promotion at Evolve. Five gentlemen had the opportunity to get promoted after passing their test," Evolve Training Center wrote on the post celebrating Bonds and his fellow BJJ teammates.

This honor will look nice next to his record seven National League MVP awards, 12 Silver Slugger Awards and his 14 All-Star selections.

Despite all the honors bestowed on Bonds, he does have a bit of an asterisk mark on his career due to the steroid scandal and not being voted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame because of it.

It will be interesting to see if Bonds decides to compete in BJJ like Mark Zuckerberg did, or if he'll just do it for fun and self-fulfillment.
