Celebrities who train MMA: Jonah Hill

Jonah Hill is the goofy lovable guy that fans fell in love with back when he starred in funny movies like Superbad, Grandma’s Boy, and Knocked Up. Since then Hill has grown into more serious roles and with them, his appearance has changed. Hill lost a great deal of weight over a course of a few years.

Hill has spoken out on several occasions about his lifestyle changes and exercise routines. Included in these exercise routines, Hill enjoys boxing and jiu-jitsu.

Hill has been training at Clockwork BJJ in New York City. He often posts pictures on his social media of his progress. Recently Hill earned his first stripe and proudly bragged on Instagram.

“I started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu 2 months ago and try and train 4 or 5 times a week,” Hill wrote. “In high school, the dudes who did Jiu Jitsu used to beat the shit out of us at parties so it turned me off to it as an idea growing up. But quietly I always thought it was a beautiful art form. At 35, I try and get over the stuff that made me feel weak and insecure as a teenager. It’s just wasted time and lessons you’ll never learn. Trying to let go of that. Nothing more humbling than getting your ass kicked by a 12-year-old your first week. Got my first stripe today. I know it sounds corny but it’s pretty dope to jump in and do stuff you’d never think you’d be able to do. Much respect to Sensai Josh and [Clockwork BJJ] and Anthony for getting me into it.”

When Hill is not on the mat or in front of the screen he can also be seen hitting pads or bags at Gotham Gym in New York.
