Celebrities who train MMA: Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato is known mostly for her singing, but in MMA circles she is becoming equally known for her serious jiu-jitsu skills. Lovato fell in love with Brazilian jiu-jitsu a few years back and has been actively expressing her love for the sport on her various social media platforms.

Lovato trains at Unbreakable Performance Center in California with Jay Glazer. Lovato shows some serious skills and even received some high praise from UFC welterweight Tyron Woodley. “She’s a go-getter,” Woodley said on TMZ. ” Sometimes when you have a little extra spunk in you it transfers well into mixed martial arts. I would put her in there. The first thing you have to do is be able to take a punch and I’ve seen Randy Couture give her a little crack upside the head in a sparring session.”

Lovato is a two-time Grammy nominee and is an advocate for substance abuse and mental health As someone who suffers from addiction, Lovato turns to the mats and her training partners when times get tough. Lovato received her purpler belt in Feb. 2023. She posted on her Instagram a photo with her belt and a message.

"Yall I'm a purple belt!!!!!!!!!" she wrote in her Instagram Stories.

In addition to being an athlete, Lovato can often be seen cage side at UFC events and even sang the national anthem at the huge boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.
