Celebrities who train MMA: Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy is known for his tough guy roles. A bonafide action star, Hardy is an enthusiastic fan of martial arts as well as a practitioner. Hardy has starred in roles as Bane in the Batmen movies, an MMA fighter in the movie Warrior, both which called for him to add a great deal of weight by adding muscle and body mass.

In training for the movie Warrior in which he must play an MMA fighter, Hardy studies boxing, and jiu-jitsu. Hardy is no stranger to the martial arts, he uses different forms to stay in shape for movie roles and just for life. He has been active in jiu-jitsu for many years and is passionate about the sport.

Hardy can also be seen attending MMA events and hanging out with the who’s who of MMA. No stranger to the cage, Hardy can take the skills from actually training and bring them to the big screen, which takes time and complete understanding of positions. Hardy has been training jiu-jitsu for a few years and as a veteran athlete, he can safely conduct the moves needed to make the movies he stars in seem real.

Hardy has also taken his love for the sport one step further as he was recently appointed as an ambassador for the REORG Jiu-Jitsu Foundation. Hardy will help the organization  teach veterans to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, as part of their recovery from the challenge of mental health and physical disabilities.
