Khabib Nurmagomedov knew exactly doing when he captioned his last video the way he did.

Ever since Khabib Nurmagomedov abruptly retired in 2020 the fans (and Dana White) have been begging for him to come back. But the longer that his retirement lasts, the smaller chance of a comeback becomes.

But for a brief moment, on Thursday morning Nurmagomedov spooked the fans with what looked like a return announcement.

The video, posted to his official Instagram account showed the former UFC lightweight champion running on a treadmill.

The caption "July I have to be ready," could be seen but in order to see the rest of the caption you had to click the video which then displayed "(not MMA)."

He didn't clarify what exactly he meant but fans took to the comments to react and speculate the cryptic post.

Fans think Khabib Nurmagomedov will be wrestling Georges St-Pierre this summer

UFC broadcaster Jon Anik simply replied with several exclamation point emojis.

Other fans shared their thoughts too. Someone wrote, "Bro had to mention not MMA. Kinda got excited" and another wrote, "July not ready for this."

Some gave their guesses about what he could be preparing for. One said, "Wrestling match against GSP" and another said, "Pro football debut." Another person guessed he'd be doing WWE or just getting his body ready for summer.

Others were angry that he wasn't coing back to MMA writing, "this is number one bullshit" and "U gived me some hope" along with the crying emojis.

Whatever it is, it won't be what we are all hoping for, unfortunately. Let's just hope it's even better.
