Former champion Kamaru Usman says he was scammed out of a lot of money because he was distracted by an attractive woman.
An old interview with former UFC champion Kamaru Usman is recirculating and fans are shocked by it all over again.
In the interview, Usman details a time when he was scammed out of $60,000 by a woman.
“Everything I always heard, ‘Yeah, you gotta put money in the market. You gotta invest in this; invest, invest.’ I’m like, ‘Alright.’ I didn’t really know what I was doing," he told GQ Sport last year.
"So, a friend introduced me to some lady who invests for you. So, she approaches me. We have a conversation. We talk. She was attractive. Of course, nothing happened on that front. But she was attractive. So, it was very easy to be distracted. Give her about almost $60,000; haven’t seen that money since. Yeah. I don’t think I did my due diligence as far as the homework and the research behind this person. Gave her about 60 bands, and [the money] just flew away.”

It's unclear why this bit has been recirculating now but it could be due to Usman falling short in his rematch with Leon Edwards at UFC 286.
It's unclear if he's made an investments since or if he ever got the money back.
