No matter who you were rooting for, you couldn't watch Conor McGregor's UFC 189 walk-out, "The Foggy Dew" without getting chills.

And that was all due to Irish singer Sinead O'Connor signing it live. It was a historic moment for the UFC as it was the first time UFC president Dana White allowed a live performance during a walk-out.

"Sinead is a powerful woman, she has a powerful voice. When you listen to her music it's eerily beautiful. It's go to war music," McGregor said of the decision to have O'Connor sing it live.

Shortly after the event White spoke about what the negotiations for getting O'Connor to Las Vegas was like.

"I called Sinéad O'Connor and asked her if she'd ever heard of the UFC? 'No,' she responded, 'but I've heard of Conor McGregor'," White said (H/t Joe.ie). "We wanted this thing to look great. To sound great. Sinead's voice is just iconic and bad-ass and it came off great tonight."

McGregor captured his first UFC title that night, and became the interim featherweight champion.

O'Connor died on July 26 at the age of 56.
