Conor McGregor and Matt Brown trade jabs after 'bum' comment sets former champion off.

Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor has responded to Matt Brown after the UFC veteran slammed him in a recent interview.

While being interviewed by Michael Bisping for Bisping's YouTube channel, Brown had some choice words for McGregor.

“He’s a nobody, in my opinion. He was amazing, I give him props for all that he did, but at this point he’s a bum," Brown said. “Conor, I think he’s lost like four or his last five. He hasn’t f*cking done nothing.

“Everything you see, it’s him drinking and getting coked up, or he’s juiced out of his mind. That’s f*cking bum life to me. All that money don’t make you not a bum. You’re still a bum to me, bro. When you step in the cage, you’re still a bum to me.”

McGregor clearly saw the comments and began tweeting about it on Tuesday morning.

"Matt Brown, heroin addict," McGregor tweeted (and then deleted). He also retweeted a fan who had shared a clip of Brown getting KO'd by Donald Cerrone with the caption, "Ya'll wanna see a dead body?"

It was then Brown's turn to fire back. He retweeted the deleted heroin tweet and doubled down on his accusations that McGregor is currently using cocaine.

"*former user* vs current coke addict let’s go!" he tweeted.

Brown also responded to the highlight video writing, "This guy woke up, did a bump, and started tweeting. I love it. I don’t know how to post gifs and shit wouldn’t be hard to find one of him getting his face smashed lol."

This is certainly a beef no one saw coming.

Brown is coming off a first-round KO of Court McGee at UFC Charlotte earlier this month.

McGregor is currently in Monaco at the Grand Prix.
