The Irish Mirror used Conor McGregor in a clever headline about an asteroid.

The Irish Mirror's latest headline is a thing of beauty ... even if it is a bit odd.

The news outlet wrote a headline about an impending asteroid but compared it to Irish MMA star Conor McGregor.

"Enormous asteroid the size of 74 Conor McGregor's to 'slam into Earth's orbit' within hours," the headline reads.

Fans and media thought the headline was hilarious and that was probably the point.

MMA Twitter had fun with the news.

"If the McGregorasteroid wipes us out what fight booked for this year will you be most sad about missing?" someone tweeted.

Someone else said, "Since when was he a unit of measurement?" While another person tweeted, "Conor McGregor could do with smashing you into the earths orbit."

McGregor's own website poked fun at the headline writing their own and creating a hilarious graphic to boot.

Its likely the Irish Mirror wanted some of that sweet McGregor SEO plan, which is pretty smart.

McGregor has yet to comment on the headline, but knowing him ... he probably will.

McGregor is starring in The Ultimate Fighter 31 which begins airing on May 31. After that, he will face Michael Chandler at a fight with a date yet to be determined.
