Yet another big weekend for MMA approaches, which means more opportunities for rising stars to show themselves. Amongst the many events happening, PFL puts on its fifth installment in the 2023 Regular Season.

PFL 5 will feature the heavyweights and women's featherweights looking to secure a spot in the 2023 Playoffs but, elsewhere on the card, two fighters look to move forward in their amateur careers. One such fighter is Biaggio Ali Walsh, whose eventual pro debut has been a much-anticipated one, not just in the PFL but in global combat sports.

The Ali Walsh name might be a familiar one to fight fans and that is because the name has some strong ties to combat sports. Biaggio's grandfather was the one and only great boxer, Muhammad Ali, and Biaggio is not the only grandchild pursuing a career in a combat arena.

Nico Ali Walsh is the younger brother of Biaggio, and he can be seen building up a name for himself in the boxing world. Biaggio Ali Walsh, on the other hand, has chosen the cage as his own to dominate. It's clear that the Ali Walsh brothers are here to take over and, for Biaggio, the possibilities of his MMA career are limitless - and it all continues on Friday at PFL 5.

Biaggio Ali Walsh is ready to forge his own path in combat sports

Coming from a family deeply rooted in combat sports, Biaggio was almost certainly destined to have a place waiting for him, should he decide to take the route. Although this Friday won't be his professional debut, Biaggio is still someone to keep your eyes on.

Ali Walsh made his amateur debut for a different promotion in June 2022 but came up unsuccessful in that fight. With a switch to a different promotion, Biaggio would finish his next opponent with a first-round TKO finish. The PFL would soon take Biaggio to fight in their own amateur wing.

Biaggio would make his first appearance in the PFL SmartCage at the PFL 2022 finals\. He finished his opponent, Tom Graesser, in just 45 seconds of the very first round with an unbelievable right cross to get the KO finish.

At PFL 2 earlier this year, Biaggio went up against Isaiah Figueroa and unleashed a barrage of punches to get the finish in under two minutes of the first round. Now, Biaggio faces Travel Miller.

Biaggio is no stranger to the SmartCage and, with every opportunity he has had in the cage, he has delivered moments that have pleased fight fans around the world. Biaggio carries the Ali name with grace and humility but is ready to carve a path for himself in the world of combat sports, and it all begins this Friday.

For all those reasons, Biaggio Ali Walsh is the fighter to watch at PFL 5.
