Aljamain Sterling is ready to shut down Henry Cejudo's attempted comeback.

Perhaps no man has been as vocal about the 'illegitimate' title reign of Aljamain Sterling than former UFC double champion Henry Cejudo. In a fight that has seen animosity grow with each passing month, Sterling and Cejudo will meet in the Octagon on Saturday, May 6 during UFC 288's main event.

And Sterling is looking forward to making Cejudo eat his words.

"I can’t wait to go out there and take that gold medal and shove it up his ass and hand him a nice ‘L’ for his efforts," Cejudo told MMA Fighting.

The UFC's bantamweight champion has made himself public enemy number one since the beginning of his reign. Many people questioned his legitimacy as champion when he won the belt over Petr Yan by disqualification. They then questioned his first title defense as Sterling would beat Yan by a razor-thin split decision.

Aljamain Sterling plans to send Henry Cejudo back to retirement at UFC 288

Despite the two prepping for what is seemingly the biggest fight in both of their respective careers, it has not meant that the sharp words between the two has decreased. If anything, the two have never gone harder at each other and will take any chance to discredit the other before their monumental clash.

"I plan on going out there and showing him that ring rust is a real thing and father time is undefeated," he said. "The difference between (Cejudo) and Jon Jones are the guys that they are fighting when they came back."
