7 most memorable Conor McGregor quotes of all-time [UPDATED]

6. 'I would invade his favela on horseback' | UFC 189 | July 2015
While McGregor has been met with applause and fanfare seemingly everywhere he travels, the same cannot be said for his trips to Brazil. In front of a hostile crowd at the UFC 189 press conference, McGregor sat opposite then-featherweight champion and Brazilian hero Jose Aldo.
As the crowd reigned down boos upon him, McGregor calmly sat back and his chair and issued a warning to the venomous crowd and their champion
“I own Rio de Janeiro,” McGregor declared. “I’m sitting up here with my feet on the desk. What’s anyone up there going to do about it? Not one of yous are going to do anything about it. My name, the McGregor name, my family’s motto … means royal is in my blood. That goes way back. So for [Aldo] to say he is the king and I am the joker, if this was a different time, I would invade his favela on horseback and kill anyone that was not fit to work. But we are in a new time. So I’ll whoop his ass in July.”
Hard to argue with that statement as McGregor would eventually go on to finish Aldo in 13 seconds at UFC 194, a UFC record for title fights.
