Xiong Jing Nan vs. Angela Lee | ONE: A New Era

North America has been a driving force in promoting WMMA, but ONE Championship deserves some credit here. When you consider the international pull of MMA, there is a lot to be said about the Asian market. With PRIDE FC and K-1 setting the bar, ONE Championship has established itself as the main MMA promotion in Asia.

While there have been several great flights within the promotion, Xiong Jing Nan and Angela Lee may have the greatest rivalry in ONE Championship history. After winning the ONE Championship atomweight title, Lee went on to defend the title three times before challenging for the strawweight title against Nan. She lost the fight and ended up losing one more before returning to atomweight. Lee would end up defending the atomweight title against Nan before challenging for the strawweight title once again.

Despite losing both fights at strawweight, Lee was able to defend her title against Stamp Fairtex and Nan, making her the best atomweight in ONE Championship history. This rivalry may not get the dues it deserves in North America, but you can be sure ONE Championship fans consider this one of the greatest matchups in the promotion’s history.
