Glover Teixeira has been an advocate for age being just a number. He won his first UFC title at 42 years old, the oldest in the history of the organization.

Jirí Prochazka took the title from Teixeira in his first defense. However, the veteran immediately fought for the belt again against Jamahal Hill after The Czech Samurai vacated it due to injury.
