UFC Vegas 67: Nassourdine Imavov vs. Sean Strickland live results.

The in-cage action for the UFC isn’t safe from the wild start to 2023 in the sports world (which includes out-of-the-cage concerns for the MMA promotion). On just four days’ notice, Sean Strickland will step back into the Octagon for the UFC Vegas 67 main event against Nassourdine Imavov.

Strickland fills in for Kelvin Gastelum, who withdrew following a mouth injury. As a result of the late notice, the Imavov vs. Strickland bout has been made a light heavyweight bout rather than competed at both men’s natural middleweight weight class.

Furthermore, Strickland becomes the first fighter to headline back-to-back UFC events since Tito Ortiz at UFC 29 and UFC 30 in, respectively, December 2000 and February 2001.

Imavov, who is competing in his first UFC main event, is 4-1 in the Octagon and enters this bout on a three-fight win streak. Imavov most recently competed at UFC Paris in September, where he scored a unanimous decision over Joaquin Buckley.

Strickland comes into this fight off back-to-back losses, getting knocked out by current middleweight champ Alex Pereira at UFC 276 in July before dropping a close split decision to Jared Cannonier at UFC Vegas 66 on December 17.
