Here is the UFC Orlando: Stephen Thompson vs. Kevin Holland odds breakdown.
The UFC is returning to Orlando, Florida for the first time since 2018 and the fight night card that is slated for Saturday night is one of epic proportions that’s expected to deliver magical moments for the fans when fighters like Rafael Dos Anjos, Tai Tuivasa, Niko Price, Michael Johnson, and others will be featured. The main event consists of a welterweight bout between Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson (16-6-1) and Kevin “Trailblazer” Holland (23-8), whom both will look forward to getting back into the win column.
The UFC veteran and No. 6 ranked welterweight, Thompson, opened up at even odds but is now a small underdog at (+135), according to WynnBet. Holland, who formerly competed at middleweight, and has successfully transitioned into making the weight limit of 170 lbs. twice, is listed as a slight favorite with odds of (-155).
Holland with a finish or a dominant win over Thompson will surge him up in the rankings and be set up against fresh matchups against contenders in the top 10. Thompson, at the age of 39, with the possibility of facing another defeat could be calling it a career or continuing to pursue big-name strikers for matchups.
An entertaining matchup in the heavyweight division that will be exemplary of a stand-and-bang style fight is between Tai Tuivasa (15-4) and Sergei Pavlovich (16-1), who both are strikers with heavy power that can turn each other’s lights off. Tuivasa has finished five out of his last six opponents and is listed at unfavorable odds of (+180), meanwhile, Pavlovich since joining the UFC has decimated four out of his five opponents and is the favorite at (-210).
Other interesting matchups for Saturday night involve lightweights Michael Johnson and Marc Diakiese, in which Diakiesse is currently edging the betting line at (-275) to Johnson’s (+230). The women’s flyweight division has a dynamic fight scheduled with Tracy Cortez matching up against Amanda Ribas, who both are surging prospects with lots of potential and are listed as a pick’em in betting odds.
The biggest betting favorite on the card is the former lightweight champion, Rafael Dos Anjos (-540), who is returning to welterweight and will face Bryan Barberena (+420).
