“Walking Trouble” Ante Delija now gets to walk around as this year’s PFL heavyweight champion, defeating Matheus Scheffel at the PFL Championship PPV

Just like his mentor, the legendary Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, Ante Delija is now also a tournament champion — but now he’s also a promotion’s champion.

Delija defeated Matheus Scheffel at the 2022 PFL Championship pay-per-view event to capture the year’s PFL heavyweight championship — one year after falling short to Bruno Cappelozza in the 2021 finals.

Ante Delija knocks out Matheus Scheffel at PFL Championship PPV to become PFL heavyweight champion

The two started off by taking to the center of the cage, albeit with patience and technical striking and not a trading brawl. Delija shot for a takedown a little less than two minutes into the bout and got Scheffel’s back to the cage, but couldn’t get him down.

A left hook from Delija rocked Scheffel against the cage before a flurry dropped him and finished the fight.
