UFC President Dana White says Conor McGregor is not in the USADA testing pool, would need to be there six months before fighting again

If UFC President Dana White is correct, Conor McGregor is no longer in the USADA testing pool.

At the UFC 280 post-fight press conference, White told MMAJunkie’s Farah Hannoun that McGregor will need to return to the drug-testing pool and complete six months in it before he is allowed to compete in the Octagon again.

McGregor, who is currently filming a movie, has not been seen in action since his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021 — a fight that saw McGregor lose via first-round TKO after breaking his leg.

Dana White says Conor McGregor is no longer in USADA testing pool

Multiple sources reported a month ago that McGregor was the sole UFC fighter to not be tested by the drug-testing agency in 2022.

It was just two months ago when McGregor teased his retirement from the Octagon in a social media post — the fourth time in his career that he has done such a thing. Just days later, however, McGregor posted a video to his social accounts claiming that his next bout will be the biggest comeback to the cage ever.

This all being said, we have seen a circumstance where a fighter was given an exemption from the time in the USADA pool.

Brock Lesnar was given an exemption from the UFC’s strict drug-testing policy so he could come back to face Mark Hunt at UFC 200. Lesnar ended up testing positive for clomiphene on an out-of-competition and in-competition test.
