The one fighter at risk of getting cut after a UFC 280 loss.

With fighting the best in the world, in the most renowned promotion in the world, there will be ups and downs, with highlights of getting a finish or being finished. In the sport of MMA, it’s a matter of inches and one fault of decision-making can dictate the result of the fight, and in the UFC the more you win, especially in highlight reel fashion, the more you get rewarded and recognized.

The more you lose, the chances of your time in the promotion will be lessened, and the Swedish UFC veteran, Lina Länsberg (10-6) could be facing that realization if she receives a loss this Saturday.

Länsberg is opening the UFC 280 card as the first prelim and is facing Karol Rosa (15-4), who’s ranked as the No. 9 fighter in the women’s bantamweight division. After suffering two consecutive losses from Pannie Kianzad and Sara McMann via unanimous decisions, she will attempt to edge out a win and be the first underdog to win on the card. According to Wynnbet, Rosa is a decent favorite with odds of (-305) and Länsberg is placed at (+255).

A new life as a mother, this could be the last UFC fight of Länsberg career

At the age of 40, Länsberg has spent four years with the UFC and has a record of 4-5 with the company. The Swede, also known as the “Elbow Queen” recently had her first child about a year and a half ago with her husband, and former UFC veteran, Akira Corassani. As a new mother and seemingly caring for her daughter, it may possible that she may have retirement on her mind whether she wins or loses.

Some other fighters that are on the cusp of possibly getting cut with a loss on Saturday are Armen Petrosyan and AJ Dobson who are matchup against each other and face the consequence of two straight losses if defeated. Gadzhi Omargadzhiev is a fighter that needs to be wary of suffering another loss, which would extend his streak to two. Given these fighters’ age, pay, and initial stages of their UFC contract, it is very unlikely they will be cut from the organization with a loss but there will be officially a hot seat.
