UFC Vegas 62: Alonzo Menifield defeated Misha Cirkunov in 88 seconds.
Alonzo Menifield defeated Misha Cirkunov via KO (strikes), Round 1 – 1:28 at UFC Vegas 62 on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, live from the UFC APEX In Las Vegas, NV.

The main card got kicked off in spectacular fashion by Menifield and Cirkunov. The two fighters engaged in an early striking battle to open the round with Menifield eventually opening up a cut over the eye of Cirkunov. The finish came after Menifield landed a powerful punch that immediately sent Cirkunov to the canvas. Cirkunov was out before he hit the ground as his head smacked off of the canvas floor. Menifield made sure it was over, landing two hammer fists before referee Mark Smith could move in and stop the fight only 88 seconds after it started.
The victory was the tenth time that Menifield had stopped an opponent in the opening round. With his victory, Menifield improved to 13-3 with 10 knockouts. With the spectacular knockout, Menifield will likely get a fight against a ranked opponent in his next fight.

Cirkunov returned to light heavyweight after a two-fight stint at middleweight. The loss was Cirkunov’s fourth in a row. Over his last seven fights, Cirkunov has only won twice.
