Ranking all Dana White Contender Series season 6 contract winners
7. Ikram Aliskerov
Russia’s Ikram Aliskerov (13-1) dominated Mario Sousa and submitted him in the first round by way of kimura before calling for Dana White to sign him. The multiple-time sambo champion says he’s UFC ready and will be a fun addition to the middleweight division.
6. Cameron Saaiman
Undefeated South African bantamweight Cameron Saaiman (6-0) had one of the most impressive outings of the season. Going up against the favorite Joshua Wang-Kim, Saaiman landed 78 strikes through 3 rounds before dropping Wang-Kim with a loaded left hook. At 21 years old, Saaiman has a lot of potential if he’s handled right, the ceiling is very high.
5. Erik Silva
Brazilian Erik Silva (9-1) impressed with brutal ground-and-pound against Anvar Boynazarov in the first round to win a contract. Silva is a big featherweight and I think will do very well in the division. Silva is scheduled to make his UFC debut at UFC 282 against fellow contract winner TJ Brown.
4. Gabriel Bonfim
The Bonfim brothers took DWCS by storm this season. The younger sibling and LFA vet, welterweight Gabriel Bonfim (13-0, 13 finishes), added some history to the DWCS books with the first-ever Von Flue choke on the program. The UFC-ready Bonfim submitted Trey Waters at the end of the first round to earn his contract.
3. Bo Nickal
The most talked-about fighter this season, three-time NCAA Division I national champion out of Penn State, middleweight Bo Nickal is now on the UFC roster. Nickal impressed in his first showing in week 3 when he submitted Zachary Borrego in just over a minute. Dana opted to give him one more fight to close out the season against Donovan Beard, and he submitted Beard in under a minute looking even better than he did in week 3. Nickal is only 3-0 but is already calling for Khamzat Chimaev. I believe Nickal is the real deal and it’s impressive how fast he’s putting together his game. Nickal already has a fight booked and will make his much-anticipated debut against fellow contract winner Jamie Pickett at UFC 282.
2. Denise Gomes
Invicta FC vet Denise Gomes (6-2) won a dominant decision victory over Rayanne Amanda to kick off week 5 and earn herself a contract. Gomes stepped in on short notice at UFC Vegas 60 against Loma Lookboonmee, dropping a unanimous decision to the Muay Thai fighter.
1. Joe Pyfer
Week 1 of Dana White’s Contender Series didn’t deliver until the main event, where Joe Pyfer (10-2) made the most of his second chance and secured a contract with a second-round knockout of LFA middleweight champion Ozzy Diaz. In his UFC debut at UFC Vegas 60, Pyfer finished Bellator vet Alen Amedovski in the first round to show he belongs on the roster.
