Kevin Holland announces his retirement on Instagram.

Kevin Holland appears to have just retired.

“Had a good run 30 in a little over a month got paid I’m out,” he wrote in a quote graphic on his Instagram on Thursday morning. “Next career choice??” In the caption of the image, he simply put the peace hand emoji.

Holland turned 30 years old on Nov. 5.

He backed up that post with two Instagram Stories, the first is an article of Daniel Rodriquez, who he was originally supposed to fight at UFC 279, scheduled to fight Neil Magny next, not the rebooking of their fight. The caption reads, “LOL dint I just ask for this scrap, that’s wild.”

A second Instagram Story reads “Retired before 30.”

Is Kevin Holland really retired?

There’s no official word from the UFC about the validity of the retirement but it appears that most fans believe he’s pulling a “Conor McGregor retirement” in that he announces it, but doesn’t really mean it.

“Stop lying bruh,” someone said.

“I hope this is a joke. Favourite fighter on the roster,” another fan wrote.

“Why you capping bro we know you still gonna fight,” someone else commented.

Another fan wrote, “NOPE NOPE NOPE! This is definitely not the wave. Bye with the jokes.”

Holland is coming off a first-round loss to Khamzat Chimaev, prior to that he won back-to-back scraps with Tim Means and Alex Oliveira.
