DWCS Week 9: Leon Aliu vs. Brunno Ferreira live results.

Dana White’s Contender Series sixth season is winding down, with only two weeks remaining, and has undoubtedly seen many firsts. Tuesday night tops them all as a 17-year-old phenom enters the octagon for the first time, attempting to earn a contract and become the youngest UFC fighter ever.

In the co-main event, 17-year-old Raul Rosas Jr. will do just that versus Mando Guitierrez in the bantamweight bout.  Rosas (5-0) has never seen the judge’s scorecards, including four submissions, but this is a big step up in competition. Guitierrez (7-1) has six submission wins himself, five by rear naked choke. Both fighters are strong grapplers; we could see quite the chess match.

In the middleweight main event Leon Aliu (10-1) battles Brunno Ferriera (8-0). The Albanian Aliu is coming off a first-round knockout in enemy territory at Cage Warriors back in May; all of his victories have come inside the distance. Ferreira, Tapology’s No. 2 ranked middleweight in Brazil, doesn’t need the judges either, finishing all of his fights. Settle in quickly for this contest, as the two fighters have 14 first-round finishes combined.

A flyweight affair kicks off the card as Titan FC vet Roybert Echeverria (7-0) faces Nova União product Jafel Filho (13-2). Don’t let the records fool you here, as Filho has faced tougher competition.

Following the opener is a lightweight scrap between Nurullo Aliev (6-0) and Josh Wick (12-5). Aliev attempting to become the first UFC fighter from Tajikistan, has gone to the scorecards in five of his six fights. Conversely, Wick, the Elevation Fight Team product comes off back-to-back first-round finishes and has seven submission wins.

The big boys lead us into the featured fights as Fury FC heavyweight champion Austen Lane (11-3) takes on unbeaten Brazilian Richard Jacobi (6-0-1). Lane, a former NFL defensive end, lost to Greg Hardy via round one knockout in 2018 on DWCS. While Jacobi has five stoppages via strikes, he has only faced one opponent with a winning record, his last fight ending in a draw in the LFA.
